How to Download WhatsApp Videos

    Open the chat

    Find the WhatsApp conversation with the video.

    Tap the video

    Open it in full-screen.

    Save to gallery

    Tap the Download icon (↓) or three-dot menu → 'Save to Gallery'.

    Find in storage

    Android: Internal Storage → WhatsApp → Media → WhatsApp Video. iPhone: Photos app.

    Enable auto-download

    Settings → Storage and Data → enable auto-download for videos.

💡 PRO TIPS

  • WhatsApp compresses videos — quality may be lower than the original sent file.
  • For Status videos: tap and hold a contact's status, then tap the Save icon.
  • Cannot save videos if the sender has disabled media saving for the chat.
